Plains Resident Sentenced for Firearm Possession

Twenty-eight (28) year old Sandy Fortune of Plains, St. Patrick was arrested and charged on Tuesday 16 February, 2021, for Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

 

Fortune appeared at the Gouyave Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 16 February, 2021, and he pled guilty to both offences.  He was sentenced to Her Majesty’s Prison for twenty-eight (28) months on the charge of Possession of a Firearm, and twenty (20) months for Possession of Ammunition.  The sentences are to run concurrently.

 

The Firearm and ammunition was discovered during a special operation conducted by the Rapid Response Unit on December 31st, 2020.
