Community Policing

The establishment of community policing seeks to bridge the gap between the police and community members. This initiative encourages better relationship between the two entities, and is therefore essential to the effective functioning of the Royal Grenada Police Force. In working together as a unit we (community and police) can minimize the occurrence of criminal activity in the island.

Community Policing seeks to fulfill it mandate in partnering with the wider community by:

• Empowering communities to deal with issues and problems
• Reducing the fear of crime by reducing actual crime
• Maintaining order and keeping the peace
• Keeping people free from intimidation, civil disturbance and unreasonable annoyance
• Keeping the traffic flowing easily
• Increasing people's personal safety
• Reducing the risk of property theft, loss or damage (Farm watch)
